CoolSnowGlobes puts a contemporary spin on the classic snow globe, by creating exquisite scenes and unexpected concepts encased in hand-blown glass spheres. Filled with a myriad of mysterious formulae that suggest different seasons and moods, CoolSnowGlobes are designed in Vermont by husband and wife David Westby and Liz Ross.

Frequently engaged by arts organizations, retailers and museums here and abroad to create custom pieces, their most recent commissions included the Philip Johnson Glass House and the White House. The collection is also carried by most of the major catalogs in the US as well as found in over 300 “mom and pops.”

The most unique and possibly the most popular collections are their Zen or "contemplative collection," and their exquisite interpretation of all four seasons. With a gold and crystal Buddha, a simple Cairn, and a globe filled solely with snow, CSG has captured not only those with fond memories of childhood snow globes, but also those with an eye for unique concepts and design. Set upon minimalist square black bases, the scenes invite the viewer inside to relax for a quiet moment.

Interactive in such a simple way, CSG doesn't go in for lights and music or continuously swirling snow. That misses the point. The idea is to turn it over and wait for the falling snow to reveal the scene inside.

Therein lies the magic.
