Company Description:
Krista Bermeo wanted contemporary glass jewelry that expressed everything museum: a dynamic piece of wearable art that reconnects the adorned with the emotions she felt when first encountering that larger-than-life Chihuly. That same ethereal feeling when the brain finally turns off and the heart listens to the mélange of colors streaming through a Tiffany window.
So that’s what she did and continues to do.
Krista creates each piece by hand by melting glass rods on a torch, but the end result of this process is entirely unlike the heavy beadwork associated with lampworking. Clean, modern and easy to wear, this is jewelry for the museum-minded set looking for something a little quirky, definitely different.
In Krista’s experience, museum visitors wish to engage with the shop’s offerings hoping to step into the lives of the artists and their work. With this idea as her foundation, Krista began collaborating with museums over eight years ago and continues to specialize in working with buyers to create specific collections for visiting and permanent exhibits. Personally invested in each shop’s success, she will bring her version of a personal trade show to museums across the country and Canada beginning in July 2014.
Not everyone can take home a Dale Chihuly, but you can help your visitor continue the museum experience with Krista Bermeo Studio jewelry.
Mindful that visitors have other buying opportunities via the web, Krista protects her wholesale clients by carefully matching the most robust retail pricing on her website. Note that the website is only representative of wholesale catalog collections.
