Live Your Dream Designs is a one person company located in my studio at The Brewery near downtown Los Angeles. I have been designing and making Origami Architecture greeting cards since 1993.

I have always been a maker of objects. I grew up making things. When I was a child, I helped my Dad build a stair-climbing wheel chair. He had rheumatoid arthritis and couldn’t work with his hands, so I was his hands. In my teen years, I sewed all my own clothes and knitted all my own sweaters. In college, I gravitated towards the theatre department and got a job running the prop shop. I made a living designing and building theatrical props and costumes for 25 years. In the early 90’s I discovered Origami Architecture. I made a few designs and offered them to my friends in “the industry”. The cards were so well received that I left my costume design career in 1993 and began making cards full time.

For me, Origami Architecture is quite intuitive. It suits me. The drawing work is fairly technical. More like drafting than like drawing. It requires a highly developed sense of form, space and design.

I do all my own production. When the design work is complete, I send the paper to an offset printer for exterior print. When the paper comes back, I begin cutting cards, using 2 large lasercutters in my studio. I can fold cards as fast as the 2 lasers can cut or visa versa depending upon how you think about it.

You can find my work in such places as Fallingwater, the Smithsonian, the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, & Books, Inc.
